The Rookie 8 Rays stage a dramatic final-inning comeback to surge past the Orioles and claim the Green Hornets Rookie 8 club baseball championship.

The Rays’ Grant Buhler, Nicholas DiPietro, James Erceg, Melvin Gill, Axel Haagenson, Liam Kinslow, Lukas Kurmayev, Tucker Lapriola, Luke Lester, Ryan Livingston, Caden Morris and Logan Yeatman trailed the Orioles 14-8 entering the bottom of the sixth inning and down to their final three outs but rallied for seven runs in the frame to walk off 15-14 winners and champions of the Rookie 8 division.

“I was extremely proud at how the team was able to stay focused all year and improve every game,” said head coach Chad Morris, who coached the team with Rob Buhler and Eric Haagenson. “Every player was pivotal in making the season as good as it was. Their ability to practice hard really showed on the field during the games.”
