API Baseball player and Severna Park Middle School student Dane Morrow, 11, recently joined athletes from all over the country who traveled to Cary, North Carolina, to participate in the 2017 USA Baseball National Tournament Identification Series Selection.

Morrow was in the initial field of more than 300 11U athletes who played at the event and was among 36 players chosen from that group to participate in a future workout with USA Baseball coaches and players.

Competing for Team Capital with fellow mid-Atlantic athletes in tournament games against teams from southern California, the Midwest, Texas and the Great Lakes region, Morrow reached base an astounding nine times in 11 plate appearances, going 5-for-7 with two walks and four RBI’s and twice getting hit by a pitch.

Morrow plays locally for API’s 12U select baseball team and also plays Green Hornets football.
