Shipley's Choice And Jones Elementary Schools Are Racing For Technology
Shipley's Choice Elementary School 5k/1m Technology Trot, 310 Governor Stone Parkway, Millersville, Sunday, May 6. 1M start time 8:00am; 5K start time 8:30am.
Run, walk, or jog, but its time to get ready for the 5K (or 1-mile) Technology Trot! Online registration is currently ongoing at http://www.active.com/register/index.cfm?EVENT_ID=2007047&CHECKSSO=0. Advance registration closing date is Friday, May 4, 9:00pm, but race-day registration will also be allowed on a walk-up basis. Packet pick-up date for those who have registered in advance is Friday, May 4, 3:00-5:00pm at the school, and race day 7:00-7:45am. Individual 5K registration, all ages, $25; Individual 1-mile registration, grades 5 and below, $20; Family registration, either race, (up to 7 immediate family members) $85.
The 1-mile race starts at 8:00am, and the course is around the school, and is open to children grades 5 and younger. The 5K starts at 8:30am, and the rolling-hill course begins and ends at the school; open to all ages. Finish line provided by Annapolis Striders. Fabulous prizes to top finishers.
Bring your old athletic shoes! Please bring your old running shoes on Race Day. Depending on their condition, they will either be donated to the less fortunate around the world or made into reusable material. Please tie shoes together by pair prior to dropping in the marked bins.

Jones Elementary School 5k/1m Run For Technology, Saturday, April 28, 122 Hoyle Lane, Severna Park. Sign in: 7:00am; 5K start: 8:00am; 1M Fun Run start: 9:00am.
Join the gang at Jones for their annual 5K Run for Technology and Feisty Fox Fun 1M Run! Proceeds benefit the school's technology fund and will be used to purchase the newest educational technology such as Smart Response Systems, audio enhancement systems, short throw projectors and more. A portion of the registration fees will be donated to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Both races will start and end at Jones Elementary, and will be run on the scenic B&A Trail. A water stop will be provided at the halfway point. There is a slight upward grade at the end of the route.
Bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, roller skates or inline skates, animals, and radio headsets are NOT allowed in the race. A clock will be displayed with the time run; however, times will not be given to individual runners nor will they be posted.
