Each month, the Severna Park Voice poses a question to a local fifth-grade class. This month, students from Ms. Harvey’s class at St. John the Evangelist School answered the question:

What is your favorite memory from elementary school?

Coming to St. John in kindergarten. That is where I met my best friends, and in fifth grade, I made a new group of friends with my other friends.

Averi

From kindergarten: Every recess, Emerson, Lila and I played with a stuffed lamb named Lamby. We would build forts for it and swing it around on its leash. Then one day Lamby was gone and we were devastated, then we moved a box of Lalaloopsy and there he was, we had left him there. It was a pretty good day.

Avery

When my first-grade teacher told us fables to enjoy and to teach us lessons in comprehension.

Brett

In third grade at May Fair when I got my whole face painted the Maryland flag and Eddie got a small Maryland flag on his cheek.

Bryce

When we made apple pie in second grade. My teacher’s pie was good, but my friends said their pie was really salty.

Caroline

When my first-grade teacher told us about the basement in her closet. She said it was a lot of fun.

Casey

Bo Bear from my kindergarten class.

CJ

When I was in kindergarten and my teacher gave us marshmallows and I lost my tooth while biting into it.

Clare

When I was in kindergarten and took home Goldie the dog. I was very excited that it was finally my turn. Avery, Goldie and I went for ice cream and to Ultimate Play Zone.

Emerson

In fourth grade, I made a “Me Poster” and I put Caroline Steele on it. My teacher took a picture of me and sent it to Caroline’s mom. Now I know Caroline and her mom well.

Emma

Last year in fourth grade, we went to a cannery field trip, and we portrayed workers of a real cannery.

Frank

At May Fair when Grace and I got mustaches painted on our faces. It was funny!

Gabby

From first grade when my class used to sneak up on the fifth-grade class on Wednesday and say, “Hump Day!” Then the teacher played the song “Happy” and we all danced!

Grace

Our field trip to Mount Vernon in third grade.

Johnny

Second grade: My teacher was so nice, and when I read pages of a book, I could trade it in for fake coins to buy stuff from the prize section.

Jonathan

Popping a balloon full of glitter above our heads on the last day of second grade. When I took my goggles off, I had glitter all through my hair.

Kit

My first May Fair. It was fun!

Michael

In kindergarten when I won a stuffed whale for stacking plastic penguins on a glacier. Johnny and I had to battle it out. I lost but we both got a stuffed whale.

Peyton

The second-grade author’s tea party. There was so much food and we got to share our writings.

Robby

My first May Fair. It was exhilarating! I ran around with my friends and had an amazing time. I had a blast on the bungee jump!

Sierra

In second grade when we had a “Polar Express”-themed Christmas party. We had a hot cocoa bar with peppermint sticks and marshmallows.

Sofia

When the concert band went to Hershey Park in fifth grade.
