Each month, the Severna Park Voice poses a question to a local fifth-grade class. This month, students from Ms. Dalton’s class at Shipley’s Choice Elementary School answered the question:

If you could switch places with your parents for one day, what chore would you make them do?

I would make my parents clean my entire room because I like it clean, but I am too lazy to do it.

Aditte P.

I would make my parents walk my dog, because whenever I take out the dog, there is bad weather. I would like them to see how it feels.

Ally W.

I would make them tie my cleats, because during a soccer game, I can’t get them tight enough. They become too loose and untie.

Annabelle W.

I would make them take out the trash because it is hard with one person. I always spill it all over the ground.

Avery L.

I would make my parents clean the shower because it is my least favorite chore. It gets really frustrating!

Ben C.

I would make my parents clean the basement. The basement is the longest and hardest job in the entire house!

Brady F.

I would make my parents do laundry because I always do it, and it is very tiring.

Brendan V.

I would make my parents make my bed because I get up late and never have time.

Brooke A.

I would make my parents unload the dishwasher because they have a lot of plates and glasses.

Caitlin M.

I would make my parents do my homework because it is a hassle to get done with sports every night.

Caitlyn B.

I would make them take out the trash because I want to see if they remember to do it.

David H.

I would make my parents unpack the groceries because they are heavy, they take forever to unpack and I always misplace the food!

Doug S.

I would make my parents load and unload the dishwasher because we always have a ton of dishes!

Ella F.

I would make them clean my room. My room is always super messy and takes a long time to clean.

Hailey H.

I would make my parents clean my room because I do not like to pick up toys.

Isaac M.

I would have them do the yard work because it takes the longest to finish.

James F.

I would make my parents clean my room because my room is really messy, and I have to clean my room most of the time.

Jason C.

I would make my parents clean my bedroom because I really do not like to clean anything.

Kevin B.

I would make my parents put away my laundry. It is very boring and annoying to do.

Kiran S.

If my parents and I switched bodies, I would make them empty the dishwasher because I always have to and it is definitely not fun.

Liam B.

I would make my parents do my homework. I strongly dislike doing homework, and my parents could finish it quickly.

Luke W.

I would make them do my homework to make them feel the pain that I feel.

Riley H.

I would make them vacuum because the cords on mine tangle my legs and make me fall over. It is hard to untangle everything!

Ryan P.

I would make them clean my room. I usually have to clean my room, so making them do it will give me more free time.

Sara K.

I would make them make my bed because it is my least favorite chore.

Sydney O.

I’ll make them clean the whole house. If they don’t, I will take their phone away until they do it.

Upton Y.

I would make my parents clean my playroom, which is a mess. I do not like to clean it at all!
