The annual Tobacco-Free Kids (TFK) Week, sponsored by the Anne Arundel County Department of Health, is set for February 11 to February 17. Every year, during TFK Week, thousands of Anne Arundel County youths participate in anti-tobacco activities in schools and community groups. TFK Week was established in 1995 and is the county’s premier smoking-prevention event for youth.

Visit the TFK Week webpage at www.smokingstinks.org for tips to plan activities. Registration and an online order form for free supplies will be available in December. Only groups from Anne Arundel County are eligible to receive supplies.

The Department of Health’s Learn To Live program encourages county residents to make healthy lifestyle choices that reduce their risk of cancer and other illnesses. For more information on smoking cessation, cancer screenings, nutrition, obesity prevention and sun safety, visit www.learntolivehealthy.org or call 410-222-7979.
