Weight Management & Wellness Seminar
The University of Maryland Center for Weight Management & Wellness is offering a free educational seminar at Baltimore Washington Medical Center on Wednesday, August 15 from 6 to 8:00pm in the Dr. Constantine Padussis Conference Center, located on third floor of BWMC at 301 Hospital Drive. Conducted by Dr. Mark Kligman, the seminar explores a comprehensive surgical approach to weight loss. Surgical therapy is a treatment option reserved for individuals 18 to 60 who have a body mass index (BMI) over 40 or who have a BMI between 35 and 40 and obesity-related medical complications such as diabetes, significant cardiovascular disease or sleep apnea.

Healthy Living Classes
The University of Maryland Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology at Baltimore Washington Medical Center is offering classes on healthy living through nutrition and exercise. A diabetes educator will lead a one-hour class discussion and offer suggestions on how to make simple nutrition and exercise changes to help achieve weight loss, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol and prevent diabetes.
Healthy Living: Nutrition and Exercise will be offered on August 1, September 5, October 3, November 7 and December 5 from 4:30 to 5:30pm, August 10, September 13, October 12, November 15 and December 14 from 9 to 10am, and July 30, August 21, September 24, October 30 and November 26 from 2 to 3:00pm in the Diabetes and Endocrinology Center located at 300 Hospital Drive, Suite 119 in Glen Burnie.
This class is recommended for anyone interested in learning more about how eating healthier and being more active can affect overall health and wellness. The cost of the class is $25 (cash or check accepted). Reservations are requested (select one date only).
