Severna Park High School (SPHS) recently announced the addition of four new varsity head coaches to its coaching staff. Congratulations to Tim Dunbar, Ann Andrews, Jay Vickery, and Bob Felts!

Tim Dunbar, Volleyball
Tim Dunbar is extremely knowledgeable and successful with coaching girls' volleyball. He has spent the last 25 years coaching volleyball, most recently the past nine seasons at the Bryn Mawr School, and 16 seasons before that at SPHS. During his 13 years coaching Varsity Volleyball at SPHS, he boasted a 259-26 (.909 winning percentage) record, with an impressive 148-4 (.974) over county opponents.

During his illustrious career, Dunbar's teams have won 11 Anne Arundel County championships, eight regional championships, three state championships with SPHS, and the IAAM Conference with Bryn Mawr School, which happened to be the school's first conference championship in the school's history. His love for the game and expertise with the sport are exemplified by earning such coaching awards as: six-time Anne Arundel County Coach of the Year; three-time Baltimore Sun Metro Coach of the Year; Washington Post Coach of the Year, and Baltimore City Coach of the Year.

Mr. Dunbar is a pioneer in the sport. He is the co-founder of the Bay Area Volleyball Association (BAVA), and has coached two nationally-ranked high school teams. Dunbar is also a 2010 inductee to the SPHS Hall of Fame.

Ann Andrews, Field Hockey
Ann Andrews brings over 20 years of experience of high school coaching to the SPHS Field Hockey program. She worked as an assistant coach for the SPHS Field Hockey program for the past two years, and was a Junior Varsity coach for the Falcons from 1992-2000, and Varsity Defense coach from 1986-1990.

Andrews also served as head Field Hockey coach at St. Mary's High School from 2001-2007. She was named Washington Post Coach of the Year in 2004.

Jay Vickery, Golf
Jay Vickery brings over 20 years of head-coaching experience to the Golf program at SPHS. Vickery has coached at Cheshire Academy in Connecticut, Cape Henry Collegian School, and Nansemond-Suffolk Academy in Virginia, Pikesville and Franklin High Schools in Baltimore County, as well as Broadneck and Severna Park High Schools in Anne Arundel County.

Bob Felts, Baseball
Bob Felts will be the new varsity baseball coach at SPHS. Felts was an assistant coach under the late Coach Jim McCandless, who passed away in January.

A heartfelt congratulations to the coaches from the staff of the Voice!
