Boys Basketball Summer Camp At Severna Park High School

 

Two big weeks:

 

June 19-23 and June 26-30

9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m.    

$160 per week

 

Ages 8 through incoming 9th graders

 

Station work, focus on fundamentals, daily full court games

Severna Park Youth Wrestling Camp

Severna Park wrestling will offer two evening camps this June for wrestlers of all ability levels in grades 1-8. The Takedown Camp will take place June 19-22 from 3:00pm-8:00pm and cost $175. The camp will help wrestlers better understand position, set-ups, counter offense and multiple attacks. Wrestlers will learn offensive takedowns, leg attacks, sweeps and upper-body holds. Defensive takedowns like front headlocks, snap and spins and counter offense will also be covered. The Top and Bottom Camp will take place the following week, from June 26-29 for $175.

Green Hornets 11U Travel Baseball Tryouts

Severna Park Green Hornets Baseball will be fielding a second 11U travel baseball team during the 2017 spring season. The team currently seeks five to six highly motivated baseball players to round out its roster. Eligible candidates must have a birth date between May 1, 2005 and April 30, 2006. The team will play an approximately 40-game schedule in the spring season, including Chesapeake Baseball Association league play and several tournaments. The team is currently participating in winter workouts. Severna Park Baseball annually sends two 12U teams to Cooperstown Dreams Park.

Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Night At Chesapeake Set For Jan. 17

The Chesapeake girls basketball team’s Multiple Sclerosis Awareness game against Glen Burnie on January 17 will feature several fundraising aspects, and all proceeds from the event will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The night will begin with the boys game at 5 p.m., and the girls game will follow at 6:45 p.m.

The event is the brainchild of Chesapeake senior Kara Blanchard, who was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

NCCA Symposium For Prospective Student-Athletes To Be Held September 28 At Annapolis HS

On Wednesday, September 28, Anne Arundel County Public Schools will present an NCAA Symposium titled Take Responsibility For Your Future to educate rising 8th-, 9th- and 10th-grade student-athletes and their families on the recruitment and admissions process for students seeking to play athletics in college.

Severna Park Green Hornets Baseball announces two head coach vacancies in the travel Program. Coach Dale Bundschu (2016 10U Green) and coach Bryan Boeskin (2016 11U White) have both decided to step down from coaching their respective teams.

Green Hornets Baseball sincerely thanks coaches Bundschu and Boeskin for their time served. We are deeply indebted to them for all the volunteer hours each put into teaching our youth sportsmanship, life lessons and baseball skills.
